We met your match, Sombrero!!......I'm thinkin' this was the real thing!!?? Charlie was not injured in this pic. We could not find him for awhile, the hat snuck up on him.

This is the tallest man to have ever worn Sombrero. He is an original Texan. You know what they say, "you can't tell how good a man or a watermelon is until it gets thumped". I sorta felt I didn't even need to thump this fella', he seemed like a good man.

South Beach

Sombrero just missed his ship headed back to his homeland....he was pretty bummed so he decided to hit the beach....South Beach that is!
Sombrero met a couple of nice friends but it wasn't the best day to get a tan so he headed off to his next destination........
Disclosure...Sombrero was not harmed(tattooed) during this visit!
Shopping on Lincoln Rd., Sombrero was on the lookout for celebrities and even convinced the Indian Chief to look as well. Didn't see anyone famous just a lot of interesting people!!

Sorry for the delay in postings but things here in South Florida are a little bit slow paced. Or maybe it is just my host family and that is their excuse! I had the pleasure of eating out at a fine dining restaurant....I guess this is their idea of fine dining! As you can see though, our shopping trip to IKEA excited everyone...especially Trent...I think it may be his favorite store!

Hola!! I am just trying to learn the language here, my southern drawl sticks out like a sore thumb. I have had nothing but R&R for the last week. Enjoying the Miami sun, lounging by the pool and trying to learn the lay of the land. Should be heading to the heart of the city before long until then...hasta la vista!

Sombrero met up w/ the ranch owner. His eyes said it all. Sombrero brought back a flood of memories. Not many words were exchanged, but good times....Ranch owner is smiling in this pic, so is Sombrero.

It was a fine day. Sombrero got to catch up on some lost time w/ friends. There is nothin' like hiding a little to get some of them so nervous. My pals sure do love to hang w/ Sombrero. Some of those smells at Busch Gardens remind Sombrero of the ranch. Sombrero has confidence w/ the mummy display. Classic, gold like bulls (rams) I think were Sombrero's favorite. Ridin' a bull is a reminder you're livin'....

Boy, Sombrero gets elected V.P. of the clubhouse, then Sombrero gets sick!! Fluff dog has been taking real good care of Sombrero. Good thing, Sombrero has friends visiting this week (full schedule) then Sombrero will be visiting Miami!! Lots of good things and good times are ahead for Sombrero. Rim back, stay strong..........A little Patsy Cline to help perk you up, one of Sombrero's favorites!!

Word is out, no matter what you have heard, Sombrero has officially been elected the running V.P. candidate for the Clubhouse. After a tough series of competitions, includin'; Darts, jumpin', wheat chewin' (and spittin'), Pole flyin', plus some I just ain't gonna show....Sombrero pulled through. Second runner up seemed to not be so happy. Cool Coop, hats off to you for puttin' up a good runnin' against the Sombrero. Keep keepin' on no matter how tough the toughin' gets.........

Sombrero went hat surfin' tonight at the beach. Larger waves than normal due to hurricane Fay. Sombrero bumped right into this nice young fella'. Technically, a surfboard is just a horse with wax. Way to go Sombrero. You are very brave....

Today Sombrero met a real cowboy, we think. It is not the clearest pic but do I dare ask to take a picture twice? It is already hard work to ask once. Anyways, we took our wagon for a walk to the market and found this nice man outside of the store. He gave us a big smile when he saw Sombrero in the wagon. This was our man for the pic, we knew it right away!! He asked if he needed to take out his "dip" for the pic (notice bottom left lip area), I think I shouted out, "oh no, we love the dip". Anyways, he said like 3 times, he didn't care if we took his picture and the hat was too small. He has been the most talkative this far. Oh Sombrero, you lucky hat....

Sombrero seems to be meeting alot of nice folks with pins. Good looking chap, very distinguished. Remember, hats can stay on at the counter; they must come off at the table. Sombrero had a great time tonight at Village Inn....

Our first adventure on the road with Sombrero. I think it looks good. It accentuates the black and green really nice. Phooey on regular hats with all those pins. That ain't got nothin' on Sombrero...cowboy quote, "Cowboy coffee ain't safe drinkin'!"

We thought it would be fun to have a documentation of "the life of a sombrero". We rescued it from a thrift store and have had many people laugh and enjoy the simple act of putting on this fancy, white, cowboy hat. Thanks to our Aunt Sheri for the idea (of course, she was probably kidding, and we took her quite literally)...we now have a blog of just and for the hat. Hats off to you and yours!!!!!!!
